Writing is the act of saying I, of imposing oneself upon other people, of saying listen to me, see it my way, change your mind.

That’s it. Except that I’m not really interested in making you change your mind, at least not in the sense of changing your opinions. Rather, I hope on a good day to give you pause, in the way that a poem gives pause. To show you a fragment of the world as seen through my eyes and words.
